About Me |

I am unlike anyone you will ever meet. I'm not sure yet if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
I'm currently in the process of packing up my life to relocate to Seattle in July. Many things are in flux due to that, so I know that by the time ive finished writing this down, something else will have changed.
Once there, I plan on rocking the art, music, and sideshow scenes, and connecting with their wonderful arts community which has lured me away from my homeland. so watch out, north-westerners. rarrrrr.
I am an artist in many ways- art is my life, my bread and butter, what gives meaning to my existence. JuliaY.com is my website, which contains all of my art that I am proud of. I am a visual storyteller, and I write and illustrate my own comics and books, and also do photography, animations, costume design and clothing resurrections, and various other visual and performing arts. you name it, I've probably made art with it.
By day I'm a professional art mercenary and college art teacher. I am also a sideshow performer- a certified freak. No really, I have my diploma on my wall. I eat fire, walk on broken glass, hammer nails into my nose, escape from straight jackets, snap my bare hands into animal traps- and look damn good while doing it. I am also a proud member of The Freakshow Deluxe.
I am also a bass player/ occasional screamer for the band BUTT TRUMPET. We've been on hold for a while, but are still releasing records and planning on rebuilding the band in July after we relocate to Seattle.
In the unlikely event of spare time, I watch cartoons, knit, play Katamari Damacy, collect PEZ dispensers and striped socks, and Strawberry Shortcake dolls (1980�s only� the new ones suck.) |
